NDTC Live Trainings: April Month in Review

NDTC Live Trainings: April Month in Review

April Showers Bring a Blue Wave

They say April showers bring May flowers – but at the NDTC we’ve seen nothing but enthusiasm and energy throughout the month of April! With nearly 1000 Democratic candidates, staffers, and activists signed up for training this month, we’re seeing the #BlueWave hit in full force.

Nine states welcomed NDTC trainings in April allowing our team to train for the first time in many states!

In Oklahoma alone, over 100 people made their interest in the 2018 elections known and spent their Saturday with us — learning the ins and outs of running successful campaigns. But Oklahoma wasn’t alone in bringing the fun. In April NDTC also trained in Missouri, Arkansas, Florida, New York, New Mexico, North Carolina, Montana, and Virginia!

As our live training program continues to grow, we are proud to have the Democratic Municipal Officials as our partners. Together we are bringing training and resources to candidates and elected officials!

On April 7th, NDTC trained in 3 states and had the opportunity to work closely with teams in Florida, Arkansas, and Missouri!

The Sunshine State Brings the Heat

NDTC held the first training of its kind in Melbourne, Florida in April. This training was an exciting opportunity for participants to learn about what it takes to run for office! Being our first training in state – we were thrilled to see over 100 excited Floridians in attendance.

We are excited to announce that we will be back in Florida in June training at their Leadership Blue event!

Arkansas Democrats are (Little) Rockin’ and Rollin’!

Then, on April 7th we were in Little Rock, Arkansas.  During our time here, we saw over 70 fired up volunteers, activists, and candidates gathered to learn the fundamentals of running effective campaigns. Together, they focused in on fundraising, field, digital, and messaging.

At this training, NDTC was joined by our partners at ActBlue. They were able to provide localized information about using the platform in state.

Major Momentum in Montana

They don’t call them “Wild Montana Skies” for nothing! NDTC was honored to train for the first time in Montana last month. With over 80 people in attendance, this training was one of our most engaged and excited groups to date!

While often unfairly classified as a red state, spending time in Montana was an absolute joy. The Montana Democratic Party pulled out all the stops and helped host a soiree after the training for other progressive organizations to attend. This event brought many first time candidates and volunteers to the forefront. We can’t wait to see what they do!

Organizing 2.0

NDTC also had an exciting opportunity in April to train at the annual Organizing 2.0 Conference in New York. This training brought together organizations, leaders, and activists from around the state who wanted to learn more about running strategic campaigns and how to organize their communities effectively! It was an absolute treat to train with the over 250 people in attendance!

Join a NDTC Live Training in May

May is an exciting month for the NDTC. We will be in Tennessee, Delaware, Illinois, and several other states! We can’t wait to see you there!
