NDTC Live Trainings: February Month In Review

Reading Time: 3 minutes

February may be the shortest month of the year, but that didn’t stop hundreds of energized Democratic candidates, campaign staffers, and activists from joining us at NDTC live trainings across the country.

In the span of just four weeks, over 500 Democrats across five states came out to learn the skills and tools needed to drive the blue wave in their home states.

Not only was this our biggest month of training yet, it gave us the opportunity to bring training to states we haven’t trained in before including Michigan, Idaho, and Wyoming!

In Idaho alone, a notoriously red state, more than 150 enthusiastic attendees came together to master the basics of building a successful campaign and learn from each other.

We also dispatched 12 new members of our live training team and added some new modules and lessons based on feedback from our past attendees.

We are incredibly proud of the wide reach of our live training program throughout the month of February.

Missouri Democrats Prepare Campaign Staff for Success

Our first training of the month with the fabulous Missouri Democratic Party was geared toward campaign staff and gave us the opportunity to launch a new training module focused on leadership and management. This module will also be available at our May boot camp in Illinois.

Michigan Dems Double the Training for Double the Blue Wins

Next, in Michigan we hosted two trainings with the Michigan Democratic Party, to make sure every Democrat in the state had access to the program. We met with great and passionate groups in both East Lansing and Gaylord, Michigan.

These trainings saw an incredibly diverse group of participants ranging from candidates to volunteers, campaign staffers to local party activists.

Michigan Democrats are on a mission to turn their state blue, and it’s clear everyone is committed to push the wave!

Idaho Dems Aren’t Sitting This One Out

Then, in Idaho we were thrilled to be on Boise State University’s campus with the Idaho Democratic Party.

The Idaho Young Democrats not only brought many excited future candidates and staffers to the NDTC live training, but also hosted a social event after to bring trainees together for some fun! The best part about this training was seeing the enthusiasm from candidates and volunteers across the state.

Turning Idaho blue never felt more real!

Wyoming Democrats are Fired Up

And on the last Saturday of the month, we trained in Cheyenne, Wyoming before the Wyoming Democratic Party’s annual Nellie Tayloe Ross Dinner.

We were so excited to see a boisterous group of trainees and were even more excited to be joined by our partners from ActBlue!

As the first training of its kind in Wyoming, not only did participants drill down on their personal narratives, they were joined by DNC Vice Chair Michael Blake and Former United States Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Julian Castro.
